The below set menu is available on Thursday 14 February 2019 from 11.30am until 10pm. Our full A La Carte Menu is also, of course, available too as it is every day we are open. 

 

Please note that on this special day/evening that all bookings made for an arrival time of before 7pm that we strictly require our tables back just before two hours after your booking arrival time. This is fundamental to the smooth-running of our restaurant on this evening and we mosy kindly request that this is respected. We assure that this period of time provides you with ample time for a 3-course meal and drinksl and it also allows us to plan our day during an exceptionally busy period and accommodate our many booking requests later that evening. If this is not something that you feel you wish to nor shall able to comply with then please book elsewhere at a less busy / less well-prepared restaurant. Further, may we ask that you please try not to attend at our restaurant earlier than the booking time as it is extremely likely that we shall have absolutely no space for you to wait in apart from in our front doorway (not ideal for you or for us) as your table is virtually guaranteed to be unavailable until your booking time and all other space in our dining areas shall be filled with other diners. Unfortunately (for us too), we do not have a separate bar area for you to drink and wait at. May we thank you in advance for observing our (regrettably) necessary timing requirements.

ZUPPA DEL GIORNO

(Today's freshly made soup of the day served with our daily-made Italian bread)

MINESTRONE ALL'ITALIANA (V)

(Freshly-made seasonal mixed vegetable soup served with our daily-made Italian bread)

SALMONE AFFUMICATO

(Quality Scottish Loch Fyne smoked salmon slices simply dressed with capers and extra virgin olive oil served with a fresh lemon wedge and a side portion of our daily-made Italian bread)

CROSTINI MISTI

(Oven-baked trio of freshly-made Italian garlic bread topped with 1. sweet peppers 2. sliced sautéed mushrooms and 3. D.O.C. quality Parma Ham)

PROSCIUTTO & MELONE

(D.O.C. quality Parma Ham served over fresh sliced honeydew melon with red berry coulis)

PATÉ DELLA CASA

(Freshly prepared chef’s own recipe smooth chicken liver paté (cooked through) served cold with hard melba toast shards, oatcakes, red berry coulis and a small salad garnish)

MOZZARELLA FRITTA (V)

(Golden-fried breaded mozzarella fingers served with a sweet tomato and chilli dip and a small salad garnish)

GAMBERETTI IN SALSA ROSA

(Baby freshwater prawn cocktail served over mixed leaf lettuce served with a side portion of our daily-made Italian bread)

(Italian Arborio rice dish with sautéed fresh seasonal green vegetables, green pesto- contains pine nuts- and Parmigiiano-Reggiano which is strictly not considered vegetarian by all)

CANNELLONI DI SPINACI E RICOTTA (V)

(Oven-baked fresh pasta cylinders densely stuffed with ricotta cheese and fresh spinach served in an abundance of béchamel and Napoli sauce)

LASAGNE AL FORNO

(Oven-baked Scotch beef mince and béchamel lasagne topped with generous ladles of our Bolognese and Napoli sauce)

PENNE ALLA PAESANA

(Penne pasta served in a sauce of our own recipe freshly-prepared sliced Italian-style pork, cinnamon, crushed chilli & fennel sausage, blended tomato and garlic)

FILETTO AL PEPE VERDE (£7.95 SUPPLEMENT)

(Prime grilled 8oz Scottish fillet steak finished in a house speciality sauce of Vecchia Romagna© brandy, fresh cream and green peppercorns. Also available plain grilled if requested at time of order. Served with a side portion of seasonal mixed vegetables & potatoes. Please note our cooking definitions: - rare = red and bloody interior; medium = pink and succulent juicy interior; well-done = grey-brown & dry/chewy/tough interior - inevitable as you will have requested us to cook the juices out and. quite frankly, destroy what was good about the cut of meat in the first place. however, we shall tenderise/flatten the fillet steak before cooking it well-done to attempt and keep it as tender as possible in the circumstances and reduce its cooking time - and heavily charred on the outside)

 

Dessert Selection:

LEMON AND BISCUIT CHEESECAKE topped with sponge cubes, whipped cream and served with red-berry coulis

PROFITEROLES served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce

TORTA NOCCIOLA - hazelnut and vanilla sponge layered slice served with whipped cream, crushed biscotti and chocolate sauce

TIRAMISU - layered savoiardi, fresh cream, espresso coffee & cocoa powder slice served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce

AFFOGATO - classic Italian treat: espresso coffee shot served over a large scoop of Italian vanilla ice-cream
